28Aug Noob Store stuff in action in the Galapagos Islands!
Every once in awhile I receive pictures of Noob Store stuff in action and I’m often surprised where some of these bits and peaces end up. Alek took the Noob DS214 adapter with him on his trip to the Galapagos Islands and sent me a few pictures of the DS214 adapter in the wild.
You can see that the DS214 adapter makes it pretty easy to mount the Juicedlink DS214 as well as the Rode VideoMic pro to the Canon 7d. You can find more of Alek’s photos from the islands here. I might have to add the Galapagos to my list of future travel destinations.

Hi,
What windscreen are you using on the Rode Videomic Pro? I am in the market for either the Rycote or Micover but cant tell what is better. Atleast its a hell of a lot better than my crappy Rode Videomic Pro deadcat =.=

I’ve had very good results with the Micover windscreens. The Video test I did pretty much settled it for me.

As the “alek” who took the pictures above (of my camera), what is shown is the Rode Deadcat … but I’ve never felt it is that good as I still seem to pick a fair amount of ambient noise and wind … but I never did a shootout against others.
And I missed the Noob review with the Micover – DAMN – could have saved myself some $$$!!!
So I’ll probably be ordering that Micover … and as DeeJay recommended, using the Rode Deadcat to do the dishes … 😉

Yea I can’t believe how disappointing Rode’s Deadcat was.

So then did you somehow mod a Micover windscreen from your Rode Videomic (from the video) and try and place it on a Rode Videomic PRO? Or did you buy another Micover windscreen, one that was custom made for the Videomic PRO? haha
