The Case Logic SLRC-202 has been my go to light weight travel bag for almost 4 years and i’m about to test out their 25 year warranty. When i’m on the road and don’t have a lot of room to pack, this bag is usually just about right. One camera body with lens, one zoom, and a wireless audio pack all fit into a single water proof case. Add a few extra batteries to the front and a few memory cards to the back pouch and you’re set.

After 4 years of abuse a few of the points on the bag have started to fail. First the zipper on the back of the bag that closes the pocket I use for memory cards has started to separate from the attachment threads. It’s easy to see why this would be a point of failure as this section constantly rubs against my hip when walking and when I’m traveling it’s not uncommon for me to walk at least 10 miles a day.

The strap is also starting to unthread at the connector. It’s not a huge issue as there is still enough left attached to keep it secured to my shoulder but I can see it failing at some point in the near future. Since Case Logic advertises a 25 year warranty on their camera bags I figure it might be time to test it out.

The first step is to submit a picture along with a warranty card to Case Logic. A response is supposed to follow within 48 hours. I’ll be submitting my warranty claim tomorrow and I plan to document the process. Many companies make claims about xx year warranties, but I wonder how many people actually take advantage of them.  It will be interesting to see how smooth the warranty process goes. The Case Logic SLRC-202 has been a great camera bag so far, hopefully they stand behind their 25 year claims. If they do, it would make the $40 price much more reasonable. I’ll keep you posted.
