11Jan CameraMator Wireless camera controller
The Cameramator actually showed up last week and the design and build look pretty reasonable. Unfortunately that’s all I can say about it right now as it only supports iOS devices which basically makes it a $200 paper weight for myself and many other backers.
The Cameramator site, recently took down all of their references to android devices even though the kick starter page clearly states:
Control your DSLR and review images with an iPad, Phone and Android Devices.
Supposedly the android app will be out by the end of this month (according to a twitter post), but I think we’ll have to wait and see. Maybe if the Cameramator designers would get a hold of the DSLR controller developers, there could be some kind of simple port to allow DSLR controller to except wifi tethering as well as usb tethering. That would probably make for the best of both worlds. However, right now it continues to be a paper weight, i’ll keep you posted if anything changes.

I know there was the kick starter program, but $200 seems kinda pricey for this thing.

Got mine a couple weeks ago and already used it for a client shoot with the app on my 27″ iMac in the studio. Clients were able to see shots as they were fired and kept them very involved. The device worked flawlessly with my wifi. Have not tried using its native wifi yet.
