Hey DJ, Why do you have Mitch on these podcasts?
As a non-filmmaker, the only things he knows about the industry are what he reads on-line.
He is totally clueless…

He asks a lot of questions on topics I forget to cover. Makes me think about very basic stuff that i’d probably gaze past.

Dj,
Could you point me out to some good companies for gear insurance? you just kinda went over it but didn’t get into specific companies. It’d be very usul info because we can use that as a good starting point for people to shop around for insurance.

If you are a member of ASMP, PPA, or APA, they all offer underwriters. Personally my umbrella coverage is taken care of by Allstate’s PUP for liability. My equipment is insured under allstate’s “Allstate Business Shield” which has a special worksheet for camera equipment. Also a good chance to inventory your gear and get serial numbers.
