20Feb Sony Vegas Pro Premium $149
I’m not a Sony Vegas user, though I do use Sound forge regularly, even so, many people use it and love it as their primary editing program. Normally the Pro version of Sony Vegas will set you back about $300, but right now on Newegg they have Sony Vegas Pro Premium on sale for $149 for the next 48 hours. Use promo code EMCPHHP93 at checkout to get the discount. Sony Vegas Pro Premium includes a copy of Sound Forage as well as DVD authoring program making it a great value at $149.

Oh mai. I feel inclined to take this offer. Could this be a sign of the next Vegas Pro coming out?

Possibly, even so you’ll be able to buy the next one at the “upgrade” price instead of the full price.

There really needs to be a revised version. I use Vegas Pro 12 but it’s flaky and, at times, unreliable. This seems to be a common complaint.

Looks like the deal is sold out. I’m not a Vegas user, but I have heard people make the same complaint. I know a few people that switched from Vegas to Premiere elements for that reason (though I wouldn’t consider that a step up).

I switched from Vegas to Premiere and it was definitely a step up. Vegas is great, but Premiere does more.

I think Deejay said Premiere Elements, the light version. That would be a definite step down. I’m thinking of going to CS6 cloud myself. @fork Did you find it tough to adapt to using Premiere?

I believe it came out during NAB that Sony Vegas is moving to a subscription service. That means for some, a hard copy version will be gold. I use Sony Vegas 13, and it’s very capable. Hasn’t been buggy/crashy for me. Better than Premiere Elements in my opinion; easy (and faster) to use than Premiere though not quite as powerful.

That’s a crazy low price. I wonder if that comes with an upgrade to Sound Forge Pro 11?

I was looking in the comments section and it looks like a number of people were able to upgrade to 11.
