04Jun Komputerbay 128GB SDXC card
This Komputerbay 128GB SDXC card showed up on monday and I’ve been giving it a few tests on the Panasonic GH4. At $64 it’s one of the most affordable 128GB SDXC cards on the market and if the advertised “60MB/s Write 90MB/s Read” are accurate, it could be an attractive option.
As of right now I’ve only had a chance to shoot a few 4k (100MB) and 1080p (200MB) shots with the Komputerbay 128GB SDXC card. I haven’t had any dropouts yet, but I also haven’t had a chance to sit down and do a full set of speed tests. If all goes well (no more hail storms from above), I’ll take it out this afternoon to shoot some 96fps to see how the card handles. Hopefully I’ll have some speed tests up by the end of the week.

been using this sd card on my 70D for a year, and when I got the gh4, we did a test between this and the U3 card, no difference on writing, in fact, both written datarate were about the same.

How’d it do in slowmo?

Actually the 4K is not that hard on a card. It’s “only” 100Mbit/s = 12MB/s and that’s MAX speed that it will need. Most of the time the bitrate of the 100Mbit/s 4K is only at 40-60Mbit/s. Meaning that normal U1 cards will do just fine most of the time. But not all the time of course.
The 200Mbit/s is harder for the cards. So give it a try on that setting 🙂

It’s been holding up at 200Mbit/s, a few have mentioned that 96FPS slowmotion actually produces the highest Mbit/s. I’m interested to see what the speed test results look like.
