Interesting conversation. Thanks. You all touched on something that as a GH4 video shooter, I struggle with all the time, which is what lens (mount) should I be buying to future-proof myself and maximize adaptability across systems while also getting great quality. I have some m4/3 lenses but not knowing what the next best camera will be and by what manufacturer (Sony, Canon, Nikon etc.), I think that maybe I shouldn’t be buying any more native m4/3 lenses which can’t be adapted to APS-C or full frame. Maybe I should be buying other lenses and adapting to m4/3.
The pluses and minus of native lenses vs adapting (and speed boosting) and related issues would be a great subject to have a more in depth conversation about. I would def tune it. Cheers!

I will add it to the list. Personally I have a large collection of M4/3 lenses now, however I still use the metabones adapter to work with my Canon lenses for video. Devin brought of up some great points about the 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8 canon lenses. Also older Nikon Nikkor lenses can be adapted to canon, nikon, m4/3, sony and more so they are a great place to look if you are planning to move up to full frame or crop sensor in the future.

Also, adapting esp. with the speed booster can have advantages over native m4/3 glass like for fast ultra wide options. The Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 with speed boaster turns into something faster than anything native out there that’s so wide. It also gives you the option to use it on and APS-C and apparently even covers a full frame sensor at 16mm.
A conversation about diff ways to adapt glass as well as specofc best options at diff focal lengths would be pretty interesting and useful to a lot of folks out there.
