I’m still sold on the Frio cold shoe adapter, but this is the cheapest I’ve seen. At $4.29 with free shipping from china, I wouldn’t expect much, but if your looking for the lowest price, this is it. Before this, the cheapest cold shoe adapter I’ve found was $8.49. I’m guessing at $4.29, shipping is at least $3, which doesn’t leave much room for profit.
I’ve got a Gini rig on the way, and will be looking for a way to mount my trusty old Azden shotgun mic to it. The Azden has a little plastic-and-rubber-band shock mount. On the bottom are quarter-20 screw holes and a cold shoe adapter. What’s my best bet for a cold shoe mount that clamps to 15mm rails?
My favorite right now is this Friction arm bracket on Ebay. It’s $49 but you get an arm a cold show adapter and the clamp all in one. The clamp works quit well on 15mm and 19mm rails.
