07Mar Used Gear Watch: BeachTek DXA-SLR XLR Adapter
The Beachtek DXA-SLR XLR adapter, isn’t quit as good as the Juicedlink DT454 but if you can get it for half the price, it starts looking a whole lot better, especially if you’re a Canon 7d user. The Retail price of the Beachtek DXA-SLR is around $390 + shipping on Amazon, current auction price on and there’s only 21 hours left with Zero bids. So if you’re in the market for an XLR adapter with gain, this could be right up your alley.

Are the Juicedlink Dt-454, the BeachTek DXA-SLR and the ART USB PRE for the same purpose ?
All of them has 2XLR, Headphone jack, etc.

All 3 of them can be used as phantom power preamps for your camera. The DT454 and DXA-SLR have agc disable built in. The Art USB pre doesn’t have AGC disable but it has the option to be used as a USB audio interface. So they are all similar but not Identical.

The one thing holding me back from buying the BeachTek DXA-XLR is that I have read a handful of reviews that noted that the pre-amps in the Beachtek isnt quite good. Infact, a couple Youtube videos still revealed that the hiss (although less noticeable) is still there in audio.
Is this the real case if your findings? Can you detect any audio hiss from using the Beachtek?
Cheers from NZ,
