11May Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 Di II SP LD XR IF
My lens collection is getting a little out of control and it’s time to start thinning the herd. The Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is a great fixed f-stop zoom lens for the price, but it’s only designed for crop sensor cameras like the t2i. Although this lens is a good value, it hasn’t left my bag for more then 4 months which means it’s time to pass it on to someone who needs it more.
If you’re interested, you can buy my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens with a Tiffen 67mm UV filterΒ for $300 plus $10 shipping. Retail is $499 so that seems like a pretty good discount, but if no one is interested, it’ll be on ebay starting on Friday. If you have any questions just let me know.

No scratches, glass has been under a filter since I bought it. I haven’t even filled out the warranty card which is included. No dents, everything is in great shape.

After reading your comment it says it has sold to someone else π

AGh.
I just need to know if it has any major scratches or dents or anything.

If no one got it yet and you’re willing to go through the hassle of International shipping (Brazil), I’m interested DeeJay.
It’s probably a last case scenario, since the price will have to go up and I know it’s kind of a hassle to ship to other countries, but if you find no other buyers, contact me! π

What lenses do you use in place of this one?
I’m thinking about buying some mid range lenses like this. I’m really considering the $400 sigma 17-70 2.8-4.

On my crop sensor cameras, the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 has become my default walk around Zoom, with the Canon 35mm f1.4 or Sigma 30mm f1.4 as a nice back up prime for low light. On the 5D It’s almost always the 50mm f1.2 with the Canon 24mm f1.4 MKII for wide shots.

Thanks. The 30mm 1.4 sounds really nice.
Are there any alternatives to the 16-35 that are cheaper? I can’t throw away $1000+ bucks on a lens. More like 500.

It’s not throwing away $1000 on a lens. It’s making an investment in good glass that will last you a heeeell of a lot longer than your camera body.
My first lens purchase was the nifty fifty. As soon as I could I chucked that horrible piece of plastic for the 50mm f/1.4 which should have been my first lens.
Better glass is always worth it. I have a prime set and L lens zooms. Better to have 2 awesome versatile great lenses than 14 pieces of crap.
just my opinion.

but if you also only wanna spend like 600 bucks the tokina 12-24mm lens is a great lens. f4 fixed.

I agree, camera bodies go out of date every year, but a good peace of glass is something you can use for many years. Plus, if you ever decide to sell them, they hold there value.
