13Dec Canon 6d Firmware and software updates
Canon just released a software update to DPP last night that allows the program to support RAW files from the Canon 6d. It’s a little surprising to me that this wasn’t ready to go at launch, was Canon rushing to get this camera out before Christmas?
Also it looks like the first Canon 6d firmware update has been released on Canon’s UK site. It’s still not showing up on Canon’s USA site, not sure why. This is good news in the Magic Lantern department as the team needs a firmware release before they can start working on a port for any given camera. Hopefully we’ll start seeing some progress.
UPDATE: Firmware is now up on the Canon USA site.

DeeJay,
Can you verify this camera having the same or better low light performance compared to the 5DMKIII? Planet Mitch reposted a story about this today. That is good news for those of us who can’t afford the mighty 5DMKIII.
Thanks.

From the tests I’ve done I would say the 6d is as good or slightly better in low light. I plan to post some side by side images of the 5d mkIII and 6d in low light tomorrow.
