06Jan Fresnel as Arri 650 and 300 watt side by side
A few of you asked about the size of the Fresnel lens on the 650 watt model and 300 watt model. Here they are side by side, the 650 watt model is on the left and the 300 watt model is on the right. The Fresnel lens on the 650 watt model is ruffly double the size.
Take the barn doors off and you can see that the physical size of the 650 watt model is ruffly double as well. These units do generate quit a bit of heat (think 500 watt shop light), so keep that in mind if you plan to use them in small confined spaces.
I haven’t had a chance to see how evenly the Fresnel lens spreads out light, but it’s on the list of things to test. I’ve been sick for the past week and half (and i’m still sick now) so I’m a little behind on video content.
