27Mar Used Gear Watch: Audio-Technica AT4073a Shotgun Mic
The Audio-Technica at4073a shotgun mic does a great job of picking up audio, has a strong output, and is one of the most frequently used microphones in my collection. Normal retail price is $799 on Amazon, current auction price with zero bids and 6 days left. I’m sure the auction price will climb, but if you can pick the at4073a up for less then $450 you’ll be getting a very good deal.
On a side note, the Audio-Technica at4073a was discontinued and replaced by the Audio-Technica bp4073a in 2011 due to a european law focusing on the use of certain solders. The microphones are pretty much identical in all other respects, so if you can’t find a good price on the at4073a, the bp4073a runs about $660 new on Amazon.
