If you’re in the market for some directional lighting, Fresnel tungsten lights make great studio spotlights. The Arri 650 watt models will set you back around $400 a peace. I haven’t had a chance to play around with any of the knock off Fresnels. Most of the reviews I’ve read say that the build quality is good, but the electrical cords and switch are hit or miss. I’m sure it wouldn’t be to much work to change out the wiring. A replacement cable is a cheap fix if everything else is solid.
